Lahore to Enjoy 4-Day Weekend on Basant Festival in February

Lahore is set to enjoy a long weekend during the Basant Festival, which will be celebrated from February 6 to February 8, 2026, according to a report by 24NewsHD TV. The Punjab government is considering declaring Friday (February 6) as a public holiday, while Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday are already scheduled holidays.

If Friday is officially declared a holiday, Lahore will observe four consecutive holidays, allowing residents to fully participate in Basant celebrations. The move aims to make the festival historic, well-organized, and secure, with authorities expecting reduced traffic and fewer motorcycles on the roads.

Basant Festival Returns to Lahore After 18 Years

Basant is making a historic comeback in Lahore after 18 years, following the passage of the Punjab Regulation of Kite Flying Bill, 2025, which was approved by the Punjab Assembly on December 24, 2025.
