Pakistan Announces Fully Funded Scholarships for 500 Bangladeshi Students

Pakistan has officially announced fully funded scholarships for 500 Bangladeshi students, marking a major milestone in strengthening educational and academic cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh. The initiative comes under a newly finalized academic agreement aimed at promoting student exchange and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Under the first phase of the agreement, selected Bangladeshi students will be enrolled in undergraduate degree programs at various Pakistani universities across multiple cities. The scholarships will cover tuition fees and essential academic expenses, enabling students to pursue higher education in Pakistan without financial constraints.

The move has been welcomed as a positive step in educational diplomacy, opening new opportunities for Bangladeshi youth while positioning Pakistan as a regional hub for quality higher education.

Allama Iqbal Scholarship Programme

The scholarship initiative has been named the Allama Iqbal Scholarship Programme, reflecting the shared cultural, intellectual, and literary heritage of Pakistan and Bangladesh. Officials said the program aims not only to support academic excellence but also to strengthen long-term bilateral relations through education.

Entry Tests Conducted in Bangladesh

As part of the selection process, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan conducted entry tests in multiple Bangladeshi cities, including Dhaka, Chattogram, and Rajshahi. A large number of students participated, showing strong interest in pursuing higher studies in Pakistan.
