The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has introduced a new recruitment policy aimed at improving efficiency and reducing repeated job advertisements within the same year.
Under the revised policy, if a government department sends a fresh requisition to PPSC for the same posts during the same calendar year, the commission will first prioritize candidates who were not recommended in the initial merit list.
Priority for Previously Qualified Candidates
According to PPSC, candidates who appeared in earlier examinations and were declared qualified but not recommended due to limited vacancies will now be given preference.
Before issuing any new advertisement, PPSC will release a revised recommendation list, selecting eligible candidates from the existing pool.

Fresh Advertisement Only if Seats Remain Vacant
The new policy clearly states:
- If vacancies are filled through the revised list, no new advertisement will be issued.
- If posts remain vacant after revised recommendations, PPSC will then announce a fresh advertisement.
- This step ensures better use of existing merit lists and avoids unnecessary delays in recruitment.
