Schools and colleges across Punjab will reopen on January 12 as scheduled, confirmed Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, dismissing rumors about any further extension in winter holidays. The announcement brings clarity for students, parents, and teachers who were awaiting an official decision.
The education minister stated that there is no proposal under consideration to extend the holidays, adding that academic activities will resume according to the existing academic calendar. He urged the public to rely only on official government notifications and avoid unverified information circulating on social media.

Education department officials have directed all public and private institutions to ensure full readiness for reopening, including staff availability and classroom arrangements. Students have been advised to prepare for the resumption of classes and follow their institutions’ schedules from January 12.
