UVAS DVM Students to Receive Honhaar Scholarships and Laptops

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore will receive Honhaar scholarships and laptops, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced during the DVM 2026 annual lunch held at the university’s City Campus. The announcement was welcomed by students and faculty as a major step toward supporting veterinary education.

Addressing the gathering, the education minister emphasized the importance of investing in livestock education, research, and professional training. He stated that DVM students play a critical role in improving meat and milk production, livestock fattening, value addition, and genetic improvement of local cattle and buffalo breeds, which are vital for Pakistan’s economy.

Rana Sikandar Hayat added that the Honhaar scholarship and laptop distribution reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to encouraging talented students and promoting merit-based support in higher education.
