The Punjab Boards Matric examinations 2026 are expected to be rescheduled due to the holy month of Ramazan and Eid-ul-Fitr, according to reports from education authorities. The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has proposed starting the annual matric exams from March 27, 2026, instead of the earlier tentative dates.
The final exam schedule will be confirmed after approval from the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairpersons (PBCC). Education officials stated that the adjustment aims to ensure students can observe Ramazan without academic pressure while maintaining a smooth examination process across all Punjab boards.
Why Punjab Matric Exams 2026 May Be Delayed
The proposed delay takes into account the overlap of the examination schedule with Ramazan and Eid-ul-Fitr. Authorities believe that postponing the exams until after Eid holidays will help students perform better and reduce logistical challenges during the holy month.
However, some students have suggested starting exams earlier, around March 1, with a short break for Eid. Despite these suggestions, boards are prioritizing religious observance and student well-being in their planning.

Punjab Boards Intermediate Exams 2026 Update
Earlier, all educational boards in Punjab officially announced that the Intermediate (FA, FSc, ICS, ICom) annual examinations 2026 will commence from May 5, 2026. The process for submission of examination forms has already begun, and students have been advised to apply within the prescribed timeline to avoid late fees.
